EIGHT NAMED TO CoSIDA/ESPN THE MAGAZINE
ACADEMIC ALL-DISTRICT TEAMS

CEDAR RAPIDS, IOWA . . . Eight Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (IIAC) student-athletes were named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District VII College Division Teams in baseball and softball selected recently and released recently by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Coe outfielder Ryan Schisler (Morrison, Ill./Morrison) was named to the First Team in baseball, while Buena Vista catcher Kevin Kloewer (Omaha, Neb./Millard South) and infielder Brad Blum (Earling, Iowa/Harlan Community) and Coe first baseman Pat Richmond (Algonquin, Ill./Dundee-Crown) were named to the Second Team.

Luther outfielder Kelsey Hake (Radcliffe, Iowa/South Hamilton) and Wartburg outfielder Lynn Heitkamp (Galena, Ill./Galena) were named to the First Team in softball, while Luther pitcher Kim Lambert (Coal Valley, Ill./Moline) and Coe first baseman Chelsea Zaugg (Cedar Rapids, Iowa/Xavier) were tabbed for the Second Team.

Schisler is a senior history major with a 3.97 grade-point average. Kloewer is a junior education major with a 3.36 GPA. Blum is a junior business education major with a 3.47 GPA. Richmond is a senior business marketing and physical therapy major with a 3.60 GPA. Hake is a senior physical education major with a 3.93 GPA. Heitkamp is a sophomore psychology and English education major with a 3.61 GPA. Lambert is a senior biology major with a 3.71 GPA. Zaugg is a senior nursing major with a 3.50 GPA.

Academic All-District First Team members move on to the national ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America® ballot. The ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America® Baseball Team is scheduled to be announced on Tuesday, May 25 and the Softball Team is scheduled to be announced on Wednesday, May 26.

To be eligible for selection to the Academic All-District Team, a student-athlete must have reached sophomore academic and athletic standing, be a starter or key reserve and possess at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale).

District VII College Division includes NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA schools in Colorado, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, Wyoming, Alberta and Saskatchewan.
